As far as the NFL image and tolerance goes, keep in mind they have allowed Kareem Hunt, a guy for which there is undeniable video evidence kicking a woman to remain in the league and sign with a new team. Yes, he is suspended for 8 games, but that feeds back to my original point in this thread - does the league or the team, even if he is convicted, fine or suspend Rath without termination?
