Here is a fun offseason conversation starter. Put, IN ORDER, the top 5 factors that you believe lead to team success in the NFL

Here are mine

1. Quality of starting QB
2. Quality of head coach/coaching staff
3. Draft effectiveness
4. Quality of player development
5. Quality of defensive backs

#5 because it is a passing league first and foremost.

1. A smart, committed OWNER with deep pockets. Someone who knows how to do his research and make the right hires and trusts his initial hiring judgement to let his employees do their jobs.

2. A strong, capable FRONT OFFICE that keeps a steady hand on all aspects of running the organization, including putting the right personnel in place and making sure they have everything they need to succeed. A staff that brings in the right players and keeps them when they have to.

3. A really good COACH. Tireless, brilliant, innovative, charismatic, straight-shooter who can bring in the right assistant coaches and inspire his players to carry out his plans. A coach players want to play for.

4. A good QB. Smart, tough, inspirational. Someone other players want to play with and follow. Someone who can win games for you.

5. LUCK. Be in the right place at the right time in drafts. Guess right on a good percentage of your draft, FA and UDFA picks. Have balls bounce your way more often than not. Avoid huge injuries that end players and seasons.
