Fant out-tested Everett in every single category. And his 4.5 forty is like the 3rd best in the last 15 years for a TE. And he plays fast. Add in the fact that Fant played against better competition and didn't get a late jump in football like Everett, means Fant is not nearly the project Everett is/was.
Everett, isn't near the mismatch that Fant is given the size difference. 6'-4" 250 vs. 6'-2" 240. Everett is not a blocker, and Fant isn't known for his blocking, his blocking was vastly improved over last season.
I will give you that Everett is better in the open field, but Fant is more physical after the catch and is more comfortable in the middle of the field.
And Fant is more versatile then Everett. Everett is basically a WR at this point, Fant can play in-line, out wide or flexed into the backfield. He is a beast in motion out of the backfield matched up against a LBer on the goalline. He is almost unstoppable in that scenario. And Iowa did it alot.
Alyo, I do appreciate the debate. But please do not encourage 43. He needs to be kept in check.
