Free agent DT Danny Shelton visited the Bengals.Shelton was banished to a reserve role with the Patriots last year, starting just one game. He would give the Bengals a run-stuffer to compete for rotational snaps. Shelton shouldn't cost much guaranteed money.
Shelton is a healthy scratch for the third-straight week.(weeks 13-15) The offseason trade acquisition is looking like he will have his 2019 team option declined.

After winning four games in his first three seasons in the league as a part of the Cleveland Browns, Danny Shelton is going to the Super Bowl thanks to an offseason trade to the New England Patriots.
But Shelton did play only 322 snaps, not only the least among the Patriot interior defensive linemen but also the least of his career. Thus far, Shelton has had a roller coaster of a career with alternating seasons above and below 75.0 overall. But he did end the season strong, earning a team-high 83.4 from Week 16 up to the Super Bowl.
The former first-round pick has shown he is what many people thought coming into the league, a run-stuffing interior defender. After struggling his rookie year, Shelton has earned a 76.0 run-defense grade or better in each of the past three seasons. But he needs to improve on tackling, as he’s ranked no better than 42nd among interior defenders in tackling efficiency in his career.

He seemed to have saved all his energy for the Super Bowl, because he didn't even play the other playoff games.
You also have to wonder why the Pats would let him walk.....it's not because he's gonna get big money. Why is a healthy scratch for 3 straight weeks?
I don't think Wade wants a guy who's strictly a run stuffer and has to be part of a rotation.
