It's hard to argue against that until the young, unproven players show what they can do. Weddle is a definite upgrade. And I read earlier that Oakland primarily plans to use Joyner as a nickel CB, not safety.
I do think edge or DL are the most likely options at #31 (or after a small move back). And if it's an edge guy, yeah, he's likely a day one starter over Ebukam. If it's a DT I think what it does is help create more of a true rotation on the DL. I see Franklin-Myers going from 300 to 500+ snaps and a rookie DT would give them a true 5-man rotation. Westbrooks was a big disappointment last year and one of the reasons Suh and Donald each played 900 snaps.
