It makes sense now why Gurley wasn't on the "injury" report during the latter part of the season and also why he's not having surgery in the off-season. Arthritis is a chronic condition, not an injury, and surgery won't fix it. I am not hopeful at all about Gurley's future as a star running back. I just don't see it, not with an arthritic knee that only got progressively worse this past season. I mean, we can hope for the best... but the bottom line is... we can't count on Gurley anymore and the Rams would be foolish to do so. I sure hope they've got a good contingency plan 'cause this is one big wrinkle none of us saw coming. Just not a good situation for anyone concerned.
