I remember him in my draft books but to me he never lived up to the hype, never became an all world type linebacker in the NFL, he never posted monster sack numbers with the Vikes and my last memories of him in coverage was getting roasted by the Rams. ESPN had him as the top rated linebacker, over my fave CJ Mosley on their NFL Live board but I can't recall him being excellent at anything. While Mosley in coverage can be questioned him in run stuffing cannot. We might end up with Barr but I consider him the lesser of the options but if it means we kept Saffold and CJ Anderson I might be ok with it but on a player for player evaluation, Mosley >> Barr for me.
