Canidate was healthy 1 year in his career and had a 5.7 yards per carry that year. the best the Rams have had in 20+ years. My point is this how in the world is Benny Cunningham like a fan favorite when he goes 4 years with 0 touchdowns and 3 plays over 20 yards and Canidate scored 6 touchdowns, had a 5.7 yards per carry, and had 5 plays over 20 yards in his one healthy season. Canidate was a much better playmaker, but was considered horrific while Cunningham was considered starting caliber and didn't make but less than a handful of big plays in 4 seasons? Hence Cunningham #1 of all-time overrated and Canidate sneaks in as an underrated player who only issue was he was never healthy other than 1 season.
Lewis while not a good player overall, but the guy played 10 seasons in the NFL. Guys that are complete busts are chased out the league at the drop of a hat and don't make it 10 years in a competitive NFL league. The list isn't about good players, but players that are undervalued so he is far from the complete busts and hence underrated.
I agree Wistrom had a great motor and was a valuable player, but he was limited and did the best he did with what he had. I never felt he was elite like many thought he was. More a lunch pale guy. Yes, he is better than a guy like Lewis relative to his position, but Wistrom was considered elite by many. That is why he was on the overrated list. Heck, Orlando Pace is a Hall of Famer and is overrated even though I grant he is one of the greats of all-time, but he wasn't as good as people thought he was once he started skipping preseason every year his game dropped off.
