A couple of attempted answers, further thoughts, and questions for you in order...
I don't see Ford as a one year wonder because in 2016 he had 10 sacks, 12 TFL, and 17 QB hits... he was getting to the QB then. Last year he got hurt.
I suspect as you do that KC may have trouble affording both Houston and Ford. If Houston became free, I'd swoop on him.
I don't know for sure that KC is switching to a 4/3 D but I spy'd out what KC fans are saying and they seem to think they are. I guess we'll see....
I haven't seen a lot of Za'Darius Smith. How does he compare to Fowler?
If a Clowney/Ford/Houston - basically a premier rusher - became available, why are you against that just because it will be expensive?
If we end up going with resigning Fowler, I'd still be concerned about the edge if we didn't draft another one high. Ebu I'm about done with and I don't want to leave it to hoping that Obo works out.
