As much as he helped us and tore it up, I think it ended up hurting us in the final two games vs Saints and Patriots
Now, this is based on Gurley actually being healthy like he had claimed he was.
If Gurley was healthy I would have preferred McVay just stick with Gurley and ride your horse, but since McVay had seen what CJ had done recently I think he was quick to switch him out instead of letting his best player in TG get his touches and get it going.
The quick hook did this team no favors in the Super Bowl......You see, I don't want this happening all next year with this weird rotation. Gurley needs to get back to the Gurley we saw in the first half of the season without having to rotate with CJ.
Good points R2K and it makes me wonder. I wonder if TG felt a little dissed and internally became a malcontent while externally he was toting the company line. This is just speculation but there was something definitely going on with him and to this day no one has come out and said definitively what it was. He just wasn't the same guy on the field.
Gurley is our horse and he needs to be the focus in the backfield.
Let's just assume for a minute that Gurley was a malcontent because of a timeshare with CJ. Wouldn't that make him "Me, not we!?"
That's contrary to the team culture. So instead of getting rid of his competition we should send a player who can't put the team first packing.
Yeah I'm not buying the malcontent Gurley.... he just wanted to win a ring and was genuinely happy for CJ.... I just don't think Gurley was as healthy as they led us to believe
Like I said guys, just speculation. The whole thing has me baffled.
