all those tight sets McVay ran down the stretch allowed teams to crowd the box more... but McVay would still run it with CJ

When Gurley is in he almost has to run the 3WR formation because Gurley apparently is not nearly as effective in other formations

That being said there is something that Gurley doesn’t do that the PFF stats don’t like
I’m telling you guys he runs more than anyone in those 3 WR sets. I’m betting he gets marked down because he doesn’t run well in traffic or inside
And thats why McVay split carries with CJ... you can’t just have a RB that runs outside zone
If more time goes by and it's clear that Gurley is not injured, do we blame McVay for not using him more down the stretch or is Gurley worth that huge contract?
It seems to me it has to be one or the other.
The fact is, CJ was more productive than Gurley at the end of the season.
