I think it was clear what a difference Talib made being in their lineup. 18 PPG with (including postseason) vs 30 without. If they can improve the pass rush that stepped back significantly from 2017 (besides Donald) then maybe next year is the year they field a top 7-10 defense. I don't think Barron and Joyner will be that hard to replace.
Talib’s return was huge. But Fowler’s effect shouldn’t be overlooked, either.
Fowler’s play kept improving every game, it seemed. And some were game changers. We don’t win that Saint game without Fowler’s hit on Brees resulting in the OT interception, for just one example. Hope he can be extended affordably.
