Tied 3-3, 3rd and 22 from their own 31 with 10:25 left. Basic dive up the middle for one yard. You have to at least throw underneath there to someone that may get some YAC.

Then, just a 39 yard punt from Hekker. Patriots take over at their 31. TD drive ensues.

Hasn't been talked about much how the Patriots won the battle of field position (three punts inside the 20). Even though a 1st down there was unlikely they missed a chance to pin the New England offense much deeper.

For me the key sequence came before that 3rd and long on the same drive.
On first down TG30 runs 16 for a first down and we are almost in field goal range. That is where they call that ticky-tacky holding on Sully. A 26 yard swing right there and killed every momentum we just had.
I dont know if we would have scored on that drive without the holding call but it was the first time I felt some confidence we could win this thing. When I saw the flag I knew it was the beginning of the end.

With all our offensive shortcomings, mistakes and horrible play calling ( still can not believe that McVay did not come up with something different all game long) the game was in our grasp at that very moment when TG30 had that good run.

Okay, with that I really will take a break from football and the Rams. Somewhat I am still in shock that we held them to 13 points and lost by 10. Two measly Tds would have secured the title.
Can.Not.Believe.It.

Go RAms!!!!!!!!!!!!
