A FASCINATING subject I've been contemplating for weeks

February 04, 2019 09:20AM
Frankly, I would love to explore this more. One, because it says a lot about human nature. Two, because it is, without question, mind blowing what the Patriots have gotten away with. (not commenting on last night, we should have beat them)

Folks, the Patriots are cheaters. Aside from cheating for several seasons, being caught and having videos destroyed (seriously, let that sink in!), they continue to be known as cheaters. The Eagles ran a completely mock practice before the game last season because they believed the Patriots could be watching their practices.... in 2018! [www.businessinsider.com]

They've rigged opposing teams locker rooms. They've deflated balls.

It is completely shocking that this hasn't been more of a story and speaks to the NFL's power to cover up cheating. Marshall Faulk has had no problem being outspoken about it....but the fascinating part is all the people who brush it under the rug, including Kurt Warner.

I'm not sure how anyone, past or present, could consider the Patriots the GOAT or Tom Brady the GOAT....when they've been caught with unfair advantages and been the beneficiaries of some of the worst coaching blunders in NFL history! Carroll not running on the goal line, Dan Quinn going full bonkers with a lead and not running the ball out... on and on.

I think this is why conspiracy theorists get some leverage in the argument. Cheating scandals have marred baseball, the NBA and even the Olympics. But aside from some penalties with draft picks......the Patriots continue to be conidered GOATS at all things professional football.

Not sure what the message is to the rest of the league. And I can't be MORE disappointed our team wasn't the one to end it last night............ but say what you will, I do NOT consider them the GOATS of anything. Accept maybe cheating.

The GOATS of football in my opinion continue to be the Joe Montana led 49er teams. I think the Patriots get a permanent asterisk....and that is why last nights game makes me absolutely sick.
