Is it possible that McVay has been saving Gurley for the Super Bowl? Has been playing riverboat gambler and keeping Gurley fresh as long as he could on their way to the Super Bowl?
Has he been that confident to keep him on spot duty with his eye on the long game....getting to the Super Bowl?
There is so much talk that he is nursing an injury....but......??
What say you?
I think Gurley has some broken cartilage or something in that knee and that he's going to minimally need microscopic surgery in the offseason to clean it up. I had something similar about 15 years ago. When I walked, my knee sounded like Rice Krispies and it hurt whenever I bent it. I went to an orthopedic surgeon who determined that I had a bunch of fractured and loose cartilage in there. He told me to stop lifting so much weight when I did leg lifts in the gym (this was back when I was a svelte-looking gym rat) and then scheduled me for surgery.
I think McVay knows for sure that something is amiss with Todd Gurley. The knee problem is not enough to label Gurley as "injured" but it's enough to be bothersome.for him and prevent him from being as productive as he was earlier in the season. I think McVay is trying to prevent making it a worse situation for Todd and having Anderson on the roster is allowing him to do that. They're managing it the best they can until Gurley can get it addressed medically once the season is over. Just my thoughts. And by the way, thoughts of Danario Alexander keep creeping into my head. 'member him?
