So many things could be going on here.
Maybe you just take everything at face value. McVay, Gurley, etc. mean exactly what they say. Not a bad conclusion.
But maybe it's more complicated. Maybe they're trying to goad Belichick into something. "Into what?" would be the question. Into stacking on Gurley when they intend to beat NE with Goff? Or into assuming Gurley is a mess when he isn't sort of a double reverse psychology thing).
Here's what I want: the iocane powder is in both glasses. Whatever Belichick tries, we're immune and he's dead.
