On the Play to Ginn he was both not exactly in position an misplayed the ball.
I do think he's best right near Barron sorta in a zone .
Last year we had Cody Davis playing deep Saftey quite a few snaps and had a good deal of success with Joyner being able sorta run free and diagnose .
This year he's been forced into more man match ups I think.
I think Peters not playing man very well hurts Joyner because he has to cover a wider area and hes being exposed .
If our inside LB s have to help in coverage by dropping back they won't be attack LOS vs the run game .
The whole darn D can fall apart trying to hide a couple of weak links in man coverage.
I wouldn't put Barron and Littleton in the weak link catagory as much as Peters and Joyner.
I think they are there to persue Laterally and mainly get that done . They aren't primarily pass defenders in this D.
We would benefit from 1 more decent Safety just for rotation.
Blake Countess might be a key to this Joyner and Peters issue .
He's our best shot at a 3rd Safety set deep allowing Joyner to be himself in mid to short zones.
I think Peters and Joyner have played well in the playoffs. Peters in particular has played much better over the last few weeks with Talib back. The numbers back that up too.
For that reason, I'm skeptical that Joyner's issues are tied to Peters. But hopefully it won't matter if they continue their good play.
The defense as a whole has been good in the playoffs.
