I think for Saints fans, it's doubly painful because of how they blew it last year vs. the Vikes. They had the game won and gave it away on a final desperation play that never should've happened. They were bitter and disillusioned, but didn't really have anybody they could blame for it, except their own team.
And then to have the very next season end the way it did just intensifies their anger and frustration, and they will use that missed call to direct/vent all of their anger, disappointment and bitterness of the last two seasons.
Saints Alive essentially confirmed that sentiment after the game on this forum.
Their anger is understandable, and yeah, we'd feel the same way, despite the fact that it's true that the refs missed lots of calls in the game on both sides, including the facemask on Goff the previous series, which likely would've changed the entire complexion of the game, if called. I suspect that if NRC had hit the WR a split second later than he did, their fans be directing their anger at Payton, rather than the refs, for throwing in that situation.
