He has and pretty much does live in obscurity. And, yep, he is unremarkable on the NFL level of talent.
My description of him as "unstoppable" was certainly not to be taken seriously.
The "love affair", as you somewhat derisively put it, is in a context that you may not have noticed or read on the board in 2013.
I liked him as a college football fan, but I am NOT one of the draft experts that inhabit this board.
So in 2013 when they were discussing RB's in the upcoming draft, I brought up Rex as my "sleeper" pick to some of the real experts.
A guy that the Rams might be able to get in later rounds that I thought might be under-rated.
But it was more or less a JOKE on my part, to suggest that I had my own contribution to the draft discussion.
Most of the guys gave me the same opinion you have - "meh, Saguaro, he's nothing special".
To me it's just mildly interesting that he has indeed outlasted, if nothing else, many of the backs drafted ahead of him.
But certainly his career numbers are paltry.
Not sure why you want to be so dismissive of the discussion I'm revisiting with Deadpool. Don't care? Then don't care.
What's your latest gyration on Goff? You were off, then said he almost fooled you into thinking he's good, then you're off again.
And now? Pick a position. We'll see about your expertise.
Ramily!
