We can take that line all we want. It will make no earthly difference.
And if the situation were reversed most of us would be bitter about the non-call. My bet is we would just not listen very hard to people who said well it should never have gotten down to that.
I am not even discussing what is or isn't right. Just pointing to something we all know---when a controversial call LATE IN THE GAME defines a given game, rightly or wrongly, that sticks forever. (Remember the Immaculate Reception and the Tuck Rule? Are those ever going to go away?)
My consolation as a Rams fan is to think, well this team will do enough from here on out so that eventually the non-call will have less significance. But it's never going to go away.
