and they allowed the play to continue, when the saint guy squatted on the prone ram player way after the whistle, the facemask on cooks on the long pass, ZERO saints penalties before halftime - this game was poorly officiated all around.
But the last call is the defining one - im ok with that. Saints had their chances after the play - oh well.
CJ was facemasked on a play running to the right, it turned his head more than Goff's head. It did not stop CJ in his tracks and the defender let go, but it turned his head around and effectively ended the run.
And I believe it was CJ Reynolds that had his helmet ripped off in the end zone, the Saint defender used both hands! Right in front of the Ref. The horse collar on Woods not called. We get called for O-PI when the defender is clearly seen with a handful of Rams jersey stretched out when our receiver makes his cut. The Saints Hill initiates helmet to helmet contact with a Ram defender (Hill actually had to get checked out), no call. In fact, it seems like they were trying to rough us up.
Oh, and don't forget that after the "egregious' no call the refs called a PI on the RAMS that...I guess someone could argue that technically it was PI...but it looked like a "payback" call...and the Saints were still kept from scoring by our defense.
I agree that the game was poorly officiated, but the Saints got the way better end of the deal, they lost in spite of the refs, not because of the refs.
