I don't think the call was "blown" so much as it was a consequence of the "let em play" philosophy of playoff football. I believe the refs did not want to make a game-ending call in that situation, in one of the biggest games of the year, with everything on the line. They wanted it to be decided on the field.

It's the same philosophy that was employed in SB 36, when the refs "let them play" and allowed the Patriots to consistently hold Ram WRs. You hear this phrase all the time -- that the refs "let them play" in the big games. It's hard to deny that there's at least some truth in that. The league does not need replay to fix this -- the league simply needs to demand consistently from game to game, no matter how big or small the game.
