I was going to start a thread on exactly this point no one's talking about.
The angle that's been replayed 1000 times over is VERY misleading. regarding where the ball is when contact was made.. Brees put that ball right behind a defender who had his back to him. No way the receiver can get to it without running "through" the defender. The contact was INCIDENTLE!
And the helmet to helmet was nothing more than a incidental bump of the sides of their helmets. NOT leading with, and NOT with the crown. That's why they wear them!
