BUT.... being a 'D' guy I was convinced the 70's Ram defenses were the best ever. Actually.. I still believe that.
Funny thing is... .the '79 Rams that made the SB I considered the 'weakest' of maybe the top 4 or 5 Ram teams of the 70's.
I'll give you this: I do think this year's offense tops the '70 teams... 'perhaps' by a good margin. Although some 'individuals' I think quite comparable, mostly on the OL.
