I hope he is ready for the challenge.
Go Rams.
Well, the Saints run D will be tested, backer, that’s for sure. Early and often. Not sure any run D can hold up very long vs 12 personnel and a rotation of Gurley/ CJ. Dallas sure couldn’t. If that same Ram OL shows up with fire in their eye...
But the Saints have another problem. Rams are pretty good in their passing game, too. So, a sellout to stop the run could be suicidal for them. And if the Rams get up by 2 scores, or more, Saints become kinda one dimensional. Which makes our front 7 more dangerous. It could become a death spiral for the Saints to sell out to stop our run.
They may be damned if they do and damned if they don’t.
Rams have a similar problem defending against the Saints, though. The Saints can kill you with both the run and the pass, too.
I will say that I prefer the Ram WR diversity, though. Thomas is the Saint key in their passing game. We have multiple receiving weapons that must be defended.
Have we playing a ton of 12 personnel? I wonder what the split is on that?
I'm not so sure that NO has to sell out to defend the run tough. They were #1 in the league at defending the run measured by rushing yards per attempt.
