Actually that is not correct. Martz loved running the ball just like McVay and had the 2nd best yards per carry in 1999, 3rd best in 2000, and 1st best in 2001.
They had the same philosophy. If you are going to run the ball, run it well.
Hate to burst everybody's bubble, but the next times the Bears scenario comes up gain, McVay will do the same thing. He is not going to run the ball just to be running it. He is going to do what gives the team the best chance to win and that was not it on that particular day.
