Yes, I noted that it was the right call. But then, aren't we told that the refs tend to keep their flags in their pockets in games like this?
I suppose it's the rule itself I have a problem with -- a split second touching of the facemask (ball carriers regularly get away with far worse). Just seems that something as innocuous as that should not be worthy of an automatic first down -- perhaps just a 5-yard penalty. The penalty is vastly worse than the crime.
Yes, the right call, but I would not have been upset at all if they had let it go.
