I have very little pity for these guys who refuse to stay clean for 10 years of their lives. Even less so in many ways. When you're rich, you have the opportunity to get the help you need and to stay away from those who bring you down. I can't help but think that these guys don't actually want to be clean and don't want to help themselves.
Be a grown-up, protect the investment that is you for 10 years, make however many millions of dollars you're going to make and then do what you want the rest of your life. Getting 5 second chances, going to the perennial Super Bowl bound team and STILL not getting it? You're a screw up and deserve nothing else. Go hang out with Artie Lange.
