Certainly along the interior. Allen is going to be pushing for that center position in camp next year, and has looked good when he's been in there. I think the reason he's not challenging Sully yet is the expertise with which Sully makes those line calls but on the physicality side of things Allen's a brawler. Boom is certainly capable as a backup OG.
Only non-replaceable dude on the OL is Big Whit. I am not sure Boom can go in there at LT and play well enough to keep Goff's confidence.
What better time than now to find out if Boom can be our future LOT, Merlin?
If not, then there’s the draft for a solution. But if the answer is yes, then we’re set at LOT for 10+ years, I think. And then the draft can be devoted to the D in the 1st.
Either way, the smart move seems to be to give Whit some much needed rest by putting Boom in there on significant snaps once we’ve built a nice lead.
