which I agree with entirely. Your post simply reminded me of this.
Back in the 70's they used to line up people in wheel chairs dangerously close, IMHO, to the field of play, specifically the end zone. My wife and I were at one of these games sitting in the first row... (terrible seats but we very much felt part of the game)....
The Ram's were in the Red Zone coming towards us and I had just mentioned the 'danger' of where these people were when the Rams suddenly scored, (can't remember the players), and the guy who caught the ball at the back of the end zone absolutely flattened one of the people in a wheel chair. He was a teenage boy, or appeared so to me. Everyone who saw it, the entire end zone section, gasped in horror. BUT...
The player who hit him, and few other field workers, were quick to make sure the boy was ok and help him back into his wheel chair.... the player gave him the football... and the boy... well.... it made his day.
He turned to the cheers coming from the end zone and you could see it was one of the proudest moments of his life.
And then he wheeled himself right back into danger. SMH.
