45 years of watching Rams--- what team in history can compare

December 17, 2018 01:00AM
After 45 years of watching, and I think 20 playoff appearances, this is the first Ram team that is fading into the playoffs. The starting 22 out there are not injured (supposedly), but many are playing like it. And, it is like watching the old and slow 1988 Celtics fade to black---though at least they were tough.

*Kupp isn't the answer to what ails the whole team, but they would like a lot better with him--he and Woods are the glue.
*Gurley's eyes after a good play look weary, with no joy---like he is enduring or playing through something.
*Donald did all he could...double teamed and going against 2 pro bowlers--that will happen.
*Peters may have infected the team with his soft tackling and soft attitude. The whole defense looks soft, except for JJ, AD and Suh and the world's best Nickell.
*Fowler, like I wrote, has no upper body strength---that is a problem in a "man's game". Like him, like I said at 6-8 mill tops--1-2 years max. May have wasted 2nd and 3rd rounders on him and Peters; these 2 'superior' athletes who can't play playoff quality ball may be part of the reason the whole team is soft. I won't mention Barron and Littleton and Talib.
*Joyner- still looks like he is ballin--maybe not so great, but the effort looks there.
*Injuries: Goff and Gurley don't have the same thing going on physically since the KC game. Goff, mentally, is not looking good. Sully at center: no way they put a rookie in...not gonna happen with pass protections at stake.

1981 Eagles faded the last 4 games after a 9-2 start....and lost in the first round. Their O line was old and over worked by Vermeil. LA Rams can't overwork their O line because of rules and vet rest days. SO, what happened? We will find out in February after the super bowl.

I thought adrenaline was a big part of the Lion-Bears games failures, but it is more than that..and yes, teams have figured out how to handle the Rams offense--and without Kupp, we can't get over that hump...unless the TEs do something, because we know Josh Reynolds won't. His KC game was an aberration.

Watching a fighting 8-5 team like the 1983-1986 Rams would be much, much more fun than this 11-3 junk. Happy I watch zero games live.

DOES ANYONE has a historical record of such a collapse of an uninjured team?
Not the 1969 Cubs, I hope, lol!
