He has been around a long time and knows what these guys can do and what they cant. Seems to me that he invites teams to run - knowing that this just isn't that good a defense on the whole. That works great when your offense scores in 3 mins and hangs 34 a game up. Let the other team get two long drives chew up 15 mins of clock and score maybe 20 points. Doesn't work to well when the offense gets its hat handed to it. Guess he figures those will be the anomaly's.
I’m a big Wade fan. Heck, I think most everybody is. Hard not to like a laid back grandfather type with a track record like his.
However...

And sometimes coaches get too stubborn about trying to fit players into “their” schemes. Wade claims to do just the opposite, but now I’m beginning to wonder.
I’m a results oriented guy, so results always trump personalities and reputations with me.
Scoring D has greatly improved since Talib’s return.
But Barron’s play? OMG! And our overall run D is abysmal. Is it possible that Wade is being too stubborn to sit Barron and give Hager, Kiser, or even Wilson a shot during these last 3 games? If he does give them some snaps and they fail, I will STFU. But if they improve our D over the current Barron, I will lay an “I told you so” on Wade.
Another thing that disappoints me. Wade was so confident that Ebu would be fine at edge per preseason interviews. Like “sky is blue and grass is green type confidence. But, other than the Chiefs game, Ebu has been below league average. No small error in judgement. Kinda shakes my faith in Wade a little bit, tbh.
Still another disappointment is Suh’s play. Is Suh simply following Wade’s direction, or is he just being lazy? From exceptional players receiving exceptional salaries, exceptional play is expected. And we’re not getting that from Suh.
I’m gonna lay off Brockers because I suspect that he’s not 100% healthy. But if he is healthy, then I have to wonder even more about Wade.
To summarize: Wade is a lovable guy, but I expected at LEAST a top 5 D with this roster and we’re not getting it. Sooooo...
