In McVay’s call In presser he likened Brown’s injury to being similar to Robert Wood’s injury last year. He also indicated that Brown was having a procedure done today that wasn’t surgical. Woods and Brown both had clavicle (collarbone) injuries. Woods missed three games last season. McVay was hopeful that Brown would miss time similar to Woods.

If I had to guess the two things that come to mind are AC injury or SC injury. McVay indicated that the injury was located near vital organs which makes me believe it’s a SC joint dislocation. Sternoclavicular (SC) joint discloactions or subluxations wouldn’t require surgery just relocation of the joint in proper alignment , Also where the clavicle and sternum join would be near the heart and lungs whereas the Acromiomclavicular joint (AC) is just the front part of the shoulder.

If they could successfully relocate the joint then Brown would need a few weeks to heal and rehab it. Surgery would obviously push a return date into the playoffs. I could be totally wrong but kind of fun to read between the lines and take a guess.
