Aaron Donald won the game for the Rams today. His strip sack of Stafford changed the momentum of the game and set the Rams up for an easy TD. He could well end up with 20 sacks this year.
I watched the LOS a lot during the broadcast today. Donald does this against constant double teams and against offensive linemen holding him.
Warren Sapp was amazing in his heyday, but Donald has surpassed him IMO.
Just unbelievable, especially with all the rules changes favoring the offense. I think he should be unquestioned league MVP, but they won't give it to a DL. Some QB will wind up with it. Brees most likely.
On another note, a couple of ex-Rams had nice games today for the Giants:
Alec Ogletree had a pick six and scored his second defensive TD in three weeks; Janoris Jenkins won the game for the Giants in OT when, in single coverage, he broke up a deep pass intended for Tyler Gabriel.
If AD were missing how many wins would the Rams have? I'd say there is a good chance they would have one of the worst defenses in the league and 3-4 more losses without Donald.
What about if they didn't have Goff? Would that impact be greater? Who knows it may be the same 3-4 more losses.
Same questions with Gurley.
IMO, we have 3 MVP worthy players. It's hard to decipher between them but it's not clear cut Goff simply because he's a QB IMO.
