Say what you will about Bradford, I KNEW in 2014 that his time with the Rams was coming to a close. Rams brass got there a year later. I'm gonna stick with faulting them for not having a better contingency plan in place.
The "no one does that" rationale isn't compelling to me. (Besides didn't KC just do this with Alex Smith / Mahomes?) You have a QB who hadn't made an ironclad demonstration performance wise that he was the future. Then you have contract negotiations upcoming. Plus a known injury risk.
If you only have one or two of those, maybe you stay the course with that guy and nothing behind him but when you have all three, they should have made a move. I don't care if no one else has done it.
Be proactive. Be a leader, a trend setter. Not a follower.
The way I see it, if amateur fans can make that call and get it right without the benefit of hindsight, then professionals are without excuse no matter how sound their reasoning for not doing it is. When you're a professional they game out every scenario. They simply miscalculated on the odds that SB was gonna be the guy going forward.
Bad call Fisher. He chose his horse, he stuck with it, he lost. No excuses! Bye!
