If the Rams lose this game, then they will be in jeopardy of being the 3rd seed and losing a playoff bye to the Bears. That game in Chicago will be a potential nightmare. The Bears will be smelling a first round BYE at home in the Windy City in frigid temps against Goff and his glove. If the Rams lose in Chicago, they may have to go back there in January. Not a good scenario for the Rams.
If the Rams beat the Chiefs tonight, they are back in the conversation for the #1 seed. Finishing 4-1 after their bye will assure them of at least a first round BYE in the playoffs, and the Chicago game becomes a nice to have instead of a must have, and there is no worry of playing in cold weather in the December.
I feel pretty good about our matchups against the Lions, especially with Kerryon on a bad knee, and us coming off a long awaited bye. I also feel good facing a decimated Eagles team at home. And the Cards and Niners will be packing up for the holidays when we get to them. The critical game is tonight. Everything flows from tonight.
I dont have a feel for this game. I dont even have a feel for the LEAGUE this year.
Maybe the rule changes have just made good teams look different nowadays. But the Rams just dont 'seem' like a 9-1 team to me. Neither do the Chiefs. To me.
They both 'seem' too 'flawed' to me to be 9-1. 7-3, yes, but 9-1 ?
I got nuthin. Rams may blow them out. Rams may get blown out. And no matter what happens, it wont mean anything for next week or the week after, etc.
All i know for sure is, its nice to not be floundering around in the 7-9 zone.
