Brees simply doesn't miss. But it's more than "not miss". He is hitting his receivers dead in stride nearly every time so that they can do something with the ball. Compare that to Wentz. Aikman made the comment that Wentz's weakness is accuracy. And even during that game last night a receiver would be wide open and Wentz might either miss him entirely or throw the ball in an awkward place where the receiver might be able to catch it but was immediately on the ground.
Brees is also seeing the field and throwing to the right guy every time, as well as getting the ball out fast enough to avoid sacks.
His Oline is protecting him well, and his receivers are catching everything that's in their zip code. He's using WRs, TEs, and RBs.
Right now, it's an impossible combination to stop. The only hope is to outscore them, which means somebody other than Brees on the Saints has to make a mistake (a fumble, run a wrong route) because the Saints score on nearly every possession otherwise.
Their defense is playing better than the Rams defense.
Right now, without doubt, the Saints are the best in the NFL. Will it stay that way to the end of the season and into the playoffs? We'll see.
