I have no idea if we win this one. Thinking of the NO game, I have my doubts.
But then, there's no reason why we can't win. And it's time to win one of these.
We have done so many great things with McVay. But we have come up short in so many of these king-of-the-hill games. The playoffs last year and NO this year were both big, big games to drop. If we allow KC to blow us away, then, I think, that will not bode well for the post-season.
If we want to aspire to a championship this year, we have got to show we can take down a team like this. So let's do it.
My keys? Well, of course we need our defense to raise its game, contain KC, and get some key stops.
But to me the real key is the offense in the clutch. I've said this before and few want to talk about it. The offense had the chance to win the NO game at the end and settled for a quick punt. And, it had the chance to salt the game away last week and didn't. Whether it's a matter of getting in the end zone to take a commanding lead, coming from behind or sealing a win, the offense MUST perform in the clutch. That's what wins games like this.
We'll see if we really have the bottle to actually contend, to do more than pile up yards and points and to beat a major contender.
