so there was that play where Goff was about to get sacked, and as he got turned around he threw the ball backhand. It avoided the sack, but the ball went no where.
watching the play I could not decide if it was savvy or stupid.
Was it a veteran savvy play of avoiding the sack in safe way?
Was it a stupid young player play that could have easily led to a pick?
Was it a never quit play where he actually thought he had a chance to complete the pass?
The first one is good, the second is understandable, the third is worrisome.
If he believes that he can make the play while being flipped around and throwing blind back hand then the confidence level has surpassed healthy imo.
I am hoping it was the first, showing Goff is a mature savvy QB, I think it might be the second as it appeared to be a play of desperation and we got lucky it didn't end up in the hands of a Seahawk.
What say you?
