Their defense is not nearly what anyone thought they would be. But we'll see where things go the next six games and beyond. They are playing a much better slate of QBs than they did a year ago. They miss Talib greatly but I still believe yesterday is is a 14+ point win if not for the five personal fouls. They may need a couple personnel adjustments. And a gut check. They are not a bad unit but they are definitely mediocre.
I totally agree about the 14 points, I don't even think it is debatable. Twice in this game the defense did stop them on third down, the Hawks would have had to punt but they get 15 yds, a firstdown, and touchdowns leading to 14 points. Even if we had not scored a single point on these two changes in possession (which I think is doubtful, I'm pretty sure we would have at the bare minimum gotten a field goal out of two possessions), that was 14 points we gave the Hawks, it was like two turnovers. Oh, and wasn't it actually 6 personal fouls committed by the RAMS. The sixth one was the offsetting penalty involving Donald which if Donald had just laughed at the guy and said "thanks, you lose" I don't believe Seattle would have gotten a first down there either (it would have been what, 3rd and 24). Anyway, our defense was helping Seattle score when they did stop them and if it had not been for those penalties I don't think this game would have been close.
