One of the important points to consider regarding 3rd down performance is the importance of Goff avoiding third down situations. I got the idea for this watching the game on Sunday--gettiing either offense to 3rd down was insanely difficult for the defenses. And I don't know of any current objective way to measure an Offense's skill at avoiding 3rd down.
If you take any play where on that play the offense gained a first down, got a penalty for a first down or scored a td AND the QB dropbacked to pass on all downs. Then you take the percentage of those conversions that occurred on 3rd down. The idea here being if an Offense converts a large percentage of their 1st Down Conversions on 1st and 2nd down the offense is not being forced into 3rd down situations that are trickier/riskier.
Below are the results, sorted least to greatest for % of 1st down conversions that occurred on 3rd down when the QB dropbacked to pass. I wanted to focus on the performance of the Qb.
