Why I'm Not Dismayed About Losing to NO

November 05, 2018 04:25AM
IMHO, of course, but

1. I don't see the Saints playing any better than they did yesterday. They are peaking now, and I'd rather be peaking in weeks 16 & 17 as a prelude to the playoffs.
2. I still expect the Rams to win Home Field Advantage through the playoffs. NO will lose to Carolina and someone else.
3. The Rams showed great fortitude in coming back from 21 points down. McVay will learn that it's smarter to take the 3 points rather than gamble so early on the road.
4. Our defense will only getting better as Fowler gets more in synch. Wade has all the ammunition he needs to make any changes to the D immediately. Am hopeful that Talib makes a difference when he gets back against the Lions in week 13, but I'm not counting on it. Better that he gets in sync the last 5 games and the defense peaks in weeks 16/17 for the payoffs.
5. The psyche of not having the pressure of an undefeated season is huge. Brockers stated it in his interview yesterday but it was a clear relief for the team.
6. Goff showed me more great stuff, including a couple of great throws while going down. Shame on Higbee for not catching that TD in the end zone when it hit him on the hands.

Hmmm. This year's D does remind me of the 2000 D
