We lost to an excellent team, that played mistake-free football, and played their asses off, at their noisy home stadium.
We showed a lot of heart in calmly coming back from a 21 point deficit to tie the game,
Although to be fair it was a close call, we got one turnover from the refs when they failed to correctly spot the Hecker fake FG run as a first down. In a close game this was costly.
This is a team we will play again. I would always rather lose the first game, in some ways I think it almost gives you an advantage later on.
To be sure, our defense is a weak spot, our at least it was in the first half. We held them to 10 in the second half, and make no mistake, that is a high-powered offense.
This is the kind of loss I can accept. In some years, both this Rams team and this Saints team would dominate the league. Both teams are that good.
Oh and did I mention we were playing a first ballot HOF quarterback as well?
