Rampage2K-
Two plays in a row where Cooks is blatantly held on 2nd and 3rd down on our second possession..... the 3rd down resulted in a sack...wow!!!
What a joke...pretty much like a free turn over courtesy of the refs.
Aikman did a great job of calling it out the first time and Fox did a great job of showing it happen on back to back plays...
There's only one receiver? And no other option, like checking down or throwing the ball away etc?
BTW the fact that Cooks was held has been discussed at length...we all saw it. That didn't cause the pass rush which was a thing in its own right (GB is third in the league is sack percentage) nor did it cause the defense to be especially challenging (Pettine has a history of fielding top 10 defenses)...all of which was magnified by having 2 weeks to game plan. It was not just one thing, like one receiver being held on a given play.
I can only say how I see it but, to me one of the key stories of the game is that Goff was forced out of his accustomed rhythms a few times, was "off" as a result, rallied, played tough down the stretch, so the Rams took the Packers's best shot and hung in there.
Well. Yay.
...
Just a simple observation from watching the first ten minutes of the TV copy...no need to dissect it or find reasons to dismiss it. Should have been automatic first down instead of a punt.
If they got away with it there I wonder how many other ones they were getting away with throughout the game that the broadcast wasn't showing???
It was a blatant hold of Cooks jersey that a competent ref should have seen... I never claimed he was the only receiver on the field or there was no other option...lol
