The Wife and I are driving up there just as soon as I get home from the Fire Station, this Sunday. I'm gonna see if I can get someone to come in early...6-6:30 AM so I can bolt. It's about an 8 hr drive. I want time to get up there, unpacked and settled for the 4 PM start. There's a cool sports bar up there where we watched the Florida / Georgia game a few years ago. Gotta watch my speed though. I-75 in Georgia, from the Fla / Ga line to Macon, is usually BUZZING with Troopers. I'll be sporting my #11 BLUE N YELLOW alllll day!!!! Gonna be fun!
Beautiful place. I ran 18, 13, and 8 miles on consecutive days while I was there this past summer. It was overcast and hot and I ended up on some trails by myself and ran into lots of wildlife. Folks were warning me about bears in the area. I had to run 9 miles back to the hotel and it was getting dark and I was just scared to death.
