But the issue with the 2012-2016 Rams is the opposite of that.
They had great drafts overall yet rarely fielded both a starting caliber qb and a relatively healthy OL at the same time.
Drafting Donald, Gurley, then Goff in consecutive years is similar to the great Steelers drafts of the late 60s (Greene, Bradshaw, Harris). And obviously the Rams found a lot more talent those years than just those 3 (Littleton for example).
So to me the absolutely closest similarity between the 2007-2016 Rams and the 2018 9ers is massive injuries.
In having poor drafts the 9ers are actually very UNlike the recent Rams.
