Defense is coming on
The defense started strong as far as points allowed, then fell off with a couple of tougher teams and people overreacted.
It is good to see them dialing up the pressure and getting more take aways.
I wouldn't say people overreacted. I don't think fans reacted any differently than the coaches and players. Remember in one game Marcus Peters was a TD curse and in another they gave up 190 yards rushing. Those were genuine issues.
We'll see because they tightened up last year, and then regressed a bit against top opposition.
I think the D is a constant work in progress but it has enough stars on it to make plays.
I am still looking for game in, game out solid consistent defense.
Not that this one is a liability like the D in 2000---like I said, it has the ability to play tough for stretches and to make spectacular plays. And we've seen BAD Rams defenses before...in contrast with this one they have guys you know are playmakers all over the unit.
The big tests are coming though.
