How many of you have experienced 25 degree weather?
Its impossible to practice for cold like that, I played HS ball in ND and the coldest game I recall was probably 40 at night. Not only does it hurt like hell to get hit, your joints are tight, adding layers under your uniform (man I wish UA was around back then) slows you a tad (very little but it all adds up.) And really until you play in it, you have no idea how your body will react, and the coaches don't know how their players will react.
A win is a win. Winning in the NFL is tough, its even tougher on the road, its even tougher on the road in 25 degrees, its even tougher winning on the road in 25 degrees when you are a California team.
Injuries were revolving OL, DL and WRs all day, adding to the mess.
And you can't really cheer on McVay and his 30 ppg without also accepting his warts. No one is prefect and he is plenty young enough to figure this out.
If there is anything I am disappointed in, its the run defense. We keep hearing it will get fixed, but we are 6 weeks in and it looks no better then it did in week 1. Plenty of shootouts in the horizon.
Ok, that felt weird, so I'll go back to being my usual pessimistic self.
The run defense was nails today!!!
Otherwise good post!!
