This was not a boxing match but if this were a boxing match and my figher was taking unecessary punishment but still got the win I would feel fortunate but very concerned for the future health of my fighter.
I never felt we were close to losing, I just felt we certainly could have won easier and that we were very arrogant and cocky. I think a better team might have found a way to beat us. Not unlike losses we experieinced last year going toe to toe with some great teams and for a play here or there could have won. Well this was the reverse , because we did not play smart consistently. We had a good start then sorta forgot our game plan and started trying to prove something we did not have to prove.
I am glad that McVay has galvanized this team as a winner.
6-0 is great but we could have gotten Kupp injured. We could have gotten Goff injured and while Cooks best contributions were blocking I often felt we did not represent the best we could have done on the field because we were inflexible or non objective in our approach. If a team wants to give up 300 yards Rushig, why not take it?
