I will be the first to admit that I was shocked when the offense took the field after the timeout by Seattle. That just doesn't happen at that point of the game when you are basically giving them a shot at a field goal to win the game if you don't make the first down.
The reward was huge you make it you win. You got a few feet to go and you make it you win. The odds are high you can make it and on top of that you feel good about the offense making the play. Do it and you win but miss it and you probably lose the game.
I also like that Seattle probably wasn't ready as they should be because they were expecting a Punt plus as one poster pointed out earlier the Rams went on an early snap count. These factors increased the odds of success. Of course making all those calculations in real time during the game is not an easy thing to do but McVay made the bold choice and chose to go for the sure win.
I don't know about you all but I loved it and it makes me love our coach even more. I loved that the organization gambled on this guy and got him the players to execute his vision of football. It seems like the entire organization is all on the same page which is much differ then it was during the GSOT.
McVay has a big brain and a big set and shows no fear.
